Wow I’ve done 4 of these weekly post things now! That’s like a month in total. Isn’t it? More proof that I can commit to something and follow through with it. Work’s been busy (I’m on a business trip and away from my home city right now), winter’s been cranky, and life’s been meh, but I knew I had to do one of these posts so I squeezed in some precious gaming time.
Backlog Battle Progress
My impromptu business trip interrupted the time I had set aside to play this game. I do have my PSP with me though so I should have more progress to report next week, hopefully. Life can be so unpredictable sometimes… Anyway, I still haven’t gone to the Sealed Cave yet. I’m exploring the Underworld first. Right now I’m trying to get all the shiny loot from Sylph Cave. I think it’s an area I’m not suppose to be in yet. Rosa knows Float which helps a lot, but the fights are tough. I’m struggling in an area with 6 trapped chests to open. I managed to get a Moonring Blade for Edge out of one. The other one I tried had a group of 6 annoying spirits, who kept putting everyone to sleep before I could do anything.
My stats now: Cecil Lv 36, Rosa Lv 35, Rydia Lv 34, Kain Lv 37, Edge Lv 29. After I’ve conquered the Sylph Cave, someone told me there’s some nice things in The Feymarch. I’ll definitely be stopping there next.
This week’s irrelevant side quest introduced me to the USS Constitution, a massive sea vessel marooned on top of savings and loan company building. The ship’s fate must have had something to do with all the nukes that were dropped a couple hundred years ago. The ship is run by deadly robots and overseen by the great Sentry Bot, Captain Ironsides (I see what they did there). My quest was to help the bots repair their ship and achieve their secret goal they refused to tell me about until the end. The quest was an easy collect stuff and kill angry people type of thing, but it was a bit time consuming. My good friend Hancock disapproved of one my decisions again but I still stand by it. After a moment of awe I couldn’t help but laugh hysterically at the final outcome of the quest.
My character is at level 24, and my good ghoul buddy still likes me even though we’ve disagreed on some issues lately. I’ve cleared all the easy side quests I had on the go, and if my needy settlements can just defend themselves for once, I will be resuming the main story now.
I successfully conquered the optional dungeon Cavern Rush, with a mere 2 seconds left on the timer (I got too jumpy near the end and fell. Oh my nerves!). The trick to speed up my time was to use Joule‘s Dash ability on the platforms. When she’s in the air, she can use it again. This really helped with my time crunch. I must admit, even though I failed a lot, all the platforming in this dungeon was very exciting. It reminds me so much of the Jak and Daxter series, and I love it!
No level changes this week. There’s a dungeon called Assembly that I haven’t been in yet so I’m going to try that next. If I can find the damn entrance to it that is.
Games Shamefully Purchased:
Still none! I think I’ve found this willpower thing finally.
Random Weekly Ramblings
- Special thanks to bobaandgames and Athena of AmbiGaming for nominating me for the prestigious One Lovely Blog award. I’m truly honored that these great bloggers have chosen me. I’ve already done one of these posts so I don’t want to bore the internet with more facts about my dull life. Honestly, it was hard enough coming up with the 7 facts I did there. If for some odd reason you’re actually interested, my post can be found here, but your time is much better spent checking out the two far better bloggers who nominated me.
- I don’t watch many movies, and it’s a rare event when someone can convince me to willingly go into crowded movie theater. However, the coworker I’m traveling with suggested we go see the new Star Wars movie, Rogue One. I said what the hell, and I absolutely loved it! I really like how it tied in with the older movies, and it had that classic Star Wars vibe going for it. It was so depressing (especially with recent sad Hollywood events) yet inspiring at the same time. My only critique is that it needed more lightsabers. I guess I should quit stalling and watch the not-so-latest one soon too.
- For no reason at all, here is an adorable kitten picture of my now 6 year old monsters. Okay, fine. I desperately need the views…
“Huh. I always figured I hallucinated this thing.” – Hancock, my Jet addicted ghoul friend, after entering the famous frigate marooned on top of a ruined office building.
